Prom season is right around the corner! Which means the joy and stress of prom dress shopping has come. With all the options out there it is hard to not get overwhelmed, my advice to you is go into the process with an idea of what you want (a picture is always helpful), and be willing to try on dresses that you may not think look so great on the hanger, because often times they look completely different on. Most importantly Get a dress you love. Bottom line, if you aren't in love with it don't get it. You can always look somewhere else or go back to a store if things don't work out, but its your special night and you want to look and feel good, so make sure its what you want.
And of course there is always the concern of someone getting the same dress, a similar color, or a similar style. So the best advice I can give is to start a Facebook page, or create some form of social media page where everyone posts pictures of their prom dresses. Also more importantly show all your friends so no one in your pictures ends up with the same dress, color etc. No girl wants to experience the surprise of twinning on prom day.
As for the rest of the details, make sure to schedule your hair and makeup appointments early, salons book up very quickly around this time of year, and the last thing you want is to not have beautiful hair and makeup to go with your stunning dress! If by chance you are still looking for a great place to get your hair and make up done and you live in the area, I highly recommend Vohana salon in Mystic CT, they rock!
Above is a sneak peak of my prom dress for this years senior prom, take a look and feel free to let me know what you think of it (:
